This November, state ballot measure Proposition 10 will attempt to repeal the Costa-Hawkins Rental Housing Act, allowing California municipalities to create their own rules on rent control. Before you cast your vote in November, please join us as we venture down the rabbit hole to understand the pernicious effects of this deeply flawed measure that will hurt the A/E/C industry and make our housing crisis worse. Industry experts will explain how repealing Costa Hawkins can slow multifamily development and limit rental income for landlords, as well as outline better affordability solutions for all Californians.
As Barry Altshuler, EVP at Equity Residential said, “Costa Hawkins has been the air in our tires for the last 20 years.” Please join us in galvanizing the A/E/C and development communities to vote NO on Prop10 and keep our industries, and California, moving forward.
